‘Sampratyutsav’ theme dhines; Ramayana tableau steals the show
MANDI: DAV Centenary Public School, Jawahar Nagar, Mandi, celebrated its annual prize distribution ceremony on Sunday (December 8, 2024) with immense grandeur and cultural vibrancy.
The event, themed “Sampratyutsav,” meaning the celebration of time, highlighted the school’s commitment to fostering both academic excellence and cultural heritage.
The grand event took place at the prestigious Sanskruti Sadan auditorium in Kangni Dhar and saw the participation of around 450 students, each contributing to the celebration’s success. The chief guest for the occasion was Ravindra Talwar, Secretary of DAV CMC, New Delhi, who was accompanied by esteemed dignitaries, including Lalita Talwar, Vandana Guleria, GK Bhatnagar and Namit Sharma, ARO-HP Zone F.
The festivities began with a warm Pahari dance performed by the young students to welcome the guests. The chief guest and other dignitaries were then honoured in a traditional ceremony, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and the rendition of the DAV anthem.
Principal presents annual report on achievements
In his address, Principal KS Guleria presented the annual report, showcasing the school’s achievements throughout the year. He emphasised the holistic development of students and the school’s dedication to instilling moral values and discipline.
The centrepiece of the event was a mesmerising Ramayana tableau, presented as a two-and-a-half-hour-long theatrical performance. With stunning visuals, powerful acting and timeless lessons, the tableau captivated the audience and received resounding applause. The students’ recitation of verses from Ramcharitmanas further added a spiritual and cultural depth to the event.
Chief guest’s inspirational address
In his keynote address, Chief Guest Ravindra Talwar lauded the school’s efforts in nurturing well-rounded students and upholding the principles of DAV institutions. He remarked,
“DAV institute, as the largest private education network in India, focuses on the holistic development of students, blending academic excellence with moral values. The Ramayana tableau is a testament to the school’s commitment to preserving our rich cultural heritage.”
Recognition and awards
Following the inspirational speech, the chief guest felicitated outstanding students for their excellence in academics and extracurricular activities. The award ceremony was a testament to the school’s dedication to recognizing and nurturing talent.
Unveiling the school magazine
The event also marked the release of the school’s annual magazine, a reflection of the creativity and achievements of its students and staff. The chief guest and dignitaries proudly unveiled the magazine, further boosting the morale of the students.
The ceremony concluded with a vibrant dance, followed by a vote of thanks delivered by stage director Neha Malhotra. The programme ended on a serene note with the recitation of the Shanti Path.
