Continuous rainfall in the tribal region of Bharmour turned fatal on Monday afternoon when heavy boulders fell on a car returning from the historic Bani Mata Temple, k*illing a 14-year-old girl and injuring two others.

The accident occurred around 1:30 PM near Aura Kainchi Mor, about two kilometers from Dhakog. The car (HP-39G-4990), carrying five devotees from Dharamshala, was struck by falling rocks during a sudden landslide.

In the tragic incident, Dikshita (14), daughter of Navneet from village and post office Dallek, Dharamshala, sustained critical injuries. Despite being rushed to Civil Hospital Bharmour with the help of locals and Panchayat Pradhan Purushottam Kumar, doctors could not save her life. Two other passengers, including Babita, suffered minor injuries and were discharged after primary treatment.

Local residents, led by Pradhan Purushottam Kumar, played a crucial role in rescuing the trapped devotees and ensuring immediate medical assistance.

With rainfall intensifying, landslides have become increasingly frequent in Bharmour. Authorities have appealed to residents and pilgrims to exercise extreme caution on hilly routes and avoid unnecessary travel during adverse weather conditions.
