A serious case involving a minor student has surfaced from Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu district, where two youths have been accused of allegedly s*exually assaulting a girl studying at a computer training centre in Dhalpur. The accused also allegedly recorded a video of the incident and threatened the victim, police said.

According to the complaint lodged by the victim’s mother, her daughter had been pursuing a computer course at a centre in Dhalpur. However, the girl had stopped attending classes for nearly a month. When family members repeatedly questioned her about the reason, she eventually narrated the alleged incident.

The girl told her family that on April 10, two boys identified as Neeraj and Nomish, who studied with her at the institute, allegedly took her to their room and assaulted her physically. The accused allegedly recorded a video of the incident and warned her of serious consequences if she disclosed the matter to anyone.

Following the revelation, the family approached the police and filed a formal complaint. Acting on the complaint, police registered a case and initiated an investigation.

Police officials said that since the victim is a minor, stringent provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, including Section 6, have been invoked in the FIR.

Confirming the development, Madan Lal said the case has been registered on the complaint of the victim’s mother and further investigation is underway. He added that the matter is being treated with utmost seriousness and strict legal action will be taken against the accused.
