Abdullapur: Continuing with the tradition of grand celebrations, Abdullapur panchayat in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh will be organising the annual fair on March 24 and 25 (2025).
Along with cultural events, various sports competitions will be held, adding excitement to the festivities.
Sports enthusiasts will witness volleyball, senior kabaddi, under-19 kabaddi and racing competitions, among other events. Winners will be rewarded with cash prizes as an encouragement for their performance.
The event is being organised by the Sports Committee Abdullapur, led by its head Ashwani Kumar (Chacha). The organising team also includes Sudarshan Kumar, former pradhan Sanjay Kumar Kancha, Dinesh Kumar, Kuldeep Kumar, Gurnam Singh, Vinod Kumar, Suraj Kumar Dagotra and Suresh Kumar (Rajju).
The organisers have invited sports lovers and local residents to participate and enjoy the fair, ensuring a spirited and competitive atmosphere.
Abdullapur village has been organising such events for several years, fostering a spirit of sportsmanship and community bonding. The annual fair and sports competitions have become a key highlight, attracting players and spectators from nearby villages as well.
Over the years, these events have provided a platform for local talent to showcase their skills and gain recognition. Several young athletes have benefited from the competition, using it as a stepping stone to grow in sports.
