Dharamshala: An Israeli tourist who was out on a trek to Triund near Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh’s Kangra district has been reported missing, prompting a large-scale search by the local authorities.
The missing trekker, Samuel Vengrinovich, believed to be in his mid-thirties, was part of a group that began the trek on June 6.

According to police sources, Samuel got separated from the group during the trek and did not return by evening. When efforts to trace him proved futile, his friend Ediblam informed the McLeodganj police.

Kangra Superintendent of Police Shalini Agnihotri confirmed that combined rescue teams from the police, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) had been deployed. Search operations are being conducted across Triund, Indrahar Pass, Jot and surrounding remote areas.

The Israeli Embassy in New Delhi has been notified about the incident and the district administration is closely coordinating and monitoring the situation.
