Himachal news: 15 injured as private bus overturns near Bholughat in Mandi

Mandi: At least 15 passengers were injured on Tuesday (April 29, 2025) after a private bus overturned on the Jahu-Mandi road near Bholughat in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh.
The accident occurred when the driver of the bus, on its way from Kullu to Kangra, reportedly lost control over it near a sharp curve and flipped on the road.

According to eyewitnesses, the bus (registration number HP40C-9937) overturned suddenly near the Bholughat bend, causing chaos and panic among the passengers. Screams for help were heard as several individuals were trapped inside the vehicle.

Emergency services were promptly deployed after local authorities were alerted.
Brijlal Sharma, Station House Officer of Hatli police station, arrived at the scene with his team and led the rescue and relief efforts. With assistance from local residents, the trapped passengers were safely evacuated.

Five of the injured passengers were shifted to the Civil Hospital in Baldwara for further medical treatment while others received on-site first aid through the 108 ambulance service.
The police have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident. Meanwhile, road clearance operations were initiated swiftly to restore traffic flow on the route and prevent further disruptions.
