Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday in New Delhi, marking another significant interaction to discuss the state’s developmental and strategic priorities.
While official details of the meeting were not immediately known, sources indicated it was a courtesy call during which the Governor discussed various issues of Himachal’s interest in detail.
This meeting follows the Governor’s earlier discussions with the Prime Minister in January, where he emphasised the need for permanent settlement of local residents in border areas and strengthening rural infrastructure under the Vibrant Village Programme.
During Thursday’s meeting, the Governor is learnt to have reiterated these points and stressed enhancing facilities for army personnel in strategically crucial regions to benefit both defense forces and local communities.
Governor Shukla had last time updated the Prime Minister on the promotion of natural farming and the ongoing anti-drug campaigns in the state.
Highlighting his visits to tribal districts under the Vibrant Village Programme, he emphasised the importance of robust infrastructure to curb migration and ensure sustainable development in these remote areas.
The Governor had then met Union Home Minister Amit Shah also and discussed the state’s pressing concerns. This was part of his ongoing engagements with central leaders to bring Himachal’s developmental needs to the forefront.
