APMC Chairman Sanjeev Guleria holds feast for orphan, underprivileged kids

MANDI: A special celebration was held at the Gymkhana Club in Mandi on Wednesday (March 26, 2025) to mark the birthday of Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.

The event, hosted by APMC Chairman Sanjeev Guleria, brought together over 110 children from local orphanages and shelter homes.

Guleria welcomed the children, who began the celebrations with a cake-cutting ceremony, followed by cultural performances showcasing their joy. As a token of encouragement, gift hampers and tracksuits emblazoned with the word “Warrior” were presented to the children.

Highlighting the Chief Minister’s commitment to underprivileged children, Guleria emphasised the impact of the Mukhyamantri Sukh-Aashray Yojana, which recognises orphaned and destitute children as “Children of the State”.

Under this initiative, the government ensures their accommodation, education and future employment opportunities. Recently, children from Mandi district also had the opportunity to embark on an educational tour under this programme, enhancing their learning experiences.

Guleria commended the children’s courage in overcoming adversity, stating that their determination exemplifies the true spirit of a warrior. He underscored that the event’s theme serves as an inspiration for all to move forward despite life’s challenges.

Earlier, Guleria has organised blood donation camps on March 26. However, this year, by celebrating with these children, he aimed to reinforce the message that serving orphans and the underprivileged should be a collective priority.
