The Sanatan Hindu Sammelan Committee organised a grand Hindu conference at Chougan Ground, Nurpur, on the occasion of Tulsi Poojan Day. The event witnessed massive participation from local residents and was marked by cultural and spiritual fervor.
Dignitaries in Attendance
The conference was graced by several prominent figures, including Member of Parliament Dr. Rajiv Bhardwaj, MLA Ranbir Singh Nikka, former MLA Ajay Mahajan, Forest Development Corporation Director Yogesh Mahajan, and Municipal Council President Ashok Sharma, among others.
Keynote Address
Delivering the keynote speech, Om Prakash, Joint Provincial Pracharak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), expressed concern over the growing attraction of youth towards drugs. He urged society to unite in guiding the younger generation away from addiction and called upon parents to instill strong values and cultural awareness in their children. He emphasized the importance of imparting knowledge of Hindu traditions and highlighted environmental conservation as the need of the hour.
Om Prakash further noted that as part of the RSS centenary celebrations, one lakh Hindu conferences are being organized across the country, with Nurpur’s event being a significant contribution. He lauded the unity of 45 organizations that came together to make the Nurpur conference a grand success.
Spiritual and Cultural Highlights
Swami Ved Prakash Saraswati, head of Atma Pragya Ashram Bagni, stressed that Sanatan Dharma is supreme and urged parents to protect children from the growing influence of Western culture by educating them about Hindu and Sanatan traditions.
The conference also featured addresses by Retired Colonel Ashwani Kaushal and Devendra Sharma, President of Shri Brijraj Swami Temple Committee.
The event began with a peaceful Havan Yajna and a collective recitation of Sundar Kand. Schoolchildren presented vibrant cultural programs, while the Gehi Lagod Ramleela Club showcased a grand tableau of Lord Ram’s family.
Honoring Guests
The organizing committee honored dignitaries by presenting them with Tulsi plants, symbolizing reverence and cultural values. The program concluded with a community feast, reinforcing the spirit of unity and tradition.
