BHARMOUR: A fire broke out around 9 pm on Friday (March 14, 2025) in the tribal region of Bharmour’s Pranghala panchayat in Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, completely engulfing the government building of the Revenue Department’s Pranghala patwar circle.
The blaze destroyed all official records of two panchayats — Pranghala and Hadsar — along with furniture and other important documents.
Firefighting teams from the Khadamukh fire station promptly reached the site and managed to control the flames, preventing the fire from spreading to nearby structures. Their action saved the adjoining school building, the panchayat office, and an ancient temple from destruction.

Assessment of damage underway
Bharmour Tehsildar Tej Raj confirmed that an administrative team was assessing the extent of the damage caused by the fire. A detailed report on the losses will be prepared on Saturday.
The authorities are yet to determine the cause of the fire. Meanwhile, locals have urged the administration to expedite relief efforts and restore the lost records crucial for governance in the tribal region.
