THE NEWZ RADAR
Dharamshala: During the upcoming winter session of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly in Dharamshala, the appointment of the Deputy Speaker is scheduled to take place. In a meeting of the Congress legislative party, chaired by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukkhu, strategies were discussed to address opposition issues during the session.
The election for the Deputy Speaker is slated for Wednesday. Speculation is rife that Vidhayak Vinay Kumar is a prominent contender for the position, having been endorsed by Congress leader Renuka Ji. Kumar, a former Civil Services officer, has also represented the Dharampur constituency.
Simultaneously, discussions about nominating MLA Chandrashekhar from Dharampur for the position have surfaced. Chandrashekhar, the sole Congress representative from Mandi district, is under consideration to ensure representation for the district in the government. This move could lead to a reshuffling of responsibilities, with Vinay Kumar possibly being assigned duties in Shimla parliamentary constituency. Meanwhile, demands persist for increased representation for Mandi district.
