The CSIR-Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology (IHBT), Palampur, is set to host a National Symposium on “Sustainable Development and Conservation of Himalayan Bioresources through a Multidisciplinary Approach” on September 2-3, 2025, at its campus in Himachal Pradesh.
Organised as a student-driven initiative, the symposium is being held to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, India’s second President and a champion of education and innovation. The event celebrates not only his legacy but also promotes collaboration, research and interdisciplinary dialogue among budding scholars and established experts.
Over the course of two days, the symposium will feature a vibrant mix of expert talks, technical presentations, panel discussions and an exhibition that highlights innovative research and practical models in bioresource conservation. With more than 100 participants expected from institutions across India, the event aims to foster knowledge exchange and inspire innovative solutions to address the complex challenges facing the fragile Himalayan ecosystem.
By bringing together diverse voices from science, academia, policy and grassroots innovation, the symposium is geared towards empowering the next generation of researchers and thought leaders to actively contribute to the vision of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India).
