Dharamshala:
In a heartwarming rescue operation near Masrehar village in Dharamshala in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, a cow that had been trapped and starving for over 48 hours in the fast-flowing waters of the Manuni stream was successfully rescued after 72 hours of relentless efforts.
The rescue was made possible through the coordinated efforts of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), the Fire Department, local residents and social organisation Team Kranti.
The operation began when Dheeraj Mahajan, president of Kranti Sanstha, was informed about the cow. Wasting no time, he and his team rushed to the location and immediately alerted the SDRF and the Fire Department.
Due to the high water flow in the stream, initial rescue efforts on Wednesday evening had to be called off for safety reasons. However, the team regrouped the next morning and managed to pull the cow out safely. Once rescued, the animal was given primary medical treatment and is currently recovering under supervision.
Locals have praised the teamwork and quick coordination among the authorities and volunteers, calling it a shining example of humanity and cooperation in action.
