Chamba, September 2: Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal has directed the District Youth Services and Sports Officer to coordinate with the concerned agency to finalize the design for a swimming pool to be included in the proposed indoor sports stadium near the district headquarters.
The directive was given during the weekly review meeting, chaired by the Deputy Commissioner, to assess the progress of various developmental projects in the district. Repaswal emphasized the importance of finalizing the design of the swimming pool promptly to ensure the timely commencement of the stadium’s construction.
Additionally, Repaswal instructed all relevant officials to expedite departmental processes for constructing additional sites for wet waste and construction waste management under the Chamba Municipal Council. He also reviewed the progress of the ongoing construction at the Gau Sadan Manjir and provided necessary guidance to the officials, who assured the completion of the work within a month.

The Deputy Commissioner called for the swift appointment of nodal officers from various departments to accelerate land transfer processes under the Forest Rights Act (FRA). He also directed the Assistant Commissioner and the District Tourism Development Officer to take steps for installing hoardings and signboards in key areas of the district.
The meeting included discussions on various topics such as fire safety measures across the district, the implementation of the “Apna Vidyalaya” scheme, the construction progress of Ayush Department health centers, and matters related to the under-construction campus of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Government Medical College at Sarol.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Magistrate Amit Mehra, Assistant Commissioner P.P. Singh, SDM Arun Sharma, Civil Defence Commandant Vinod Dhiman, Deputy Superintendent of Police Jitendra Chaudhary, Medical College Principal Dr. S.S. Dogra, District Development Officer O.P. Thakur, Forest Officer Kritagya Kumar, and Assistant Engineer of the Municipal Council Madan Sharma.
