Education Minister Rohit Thakur was warmly welcomed at the Circuit House in Chamba by MLA Neeraj Nayyar, Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal, Superintendent of Police Vijay Kumar Saklani, Deputy Director of School Education Vikas Mahajan, district officials, and local residents.
Speaking to the press, Thakur said the Education Department is assessing ground-level arrangements in Chamba to plan future steps. He emphasized that the ongoing school rationalization process in Himachal Pradesh aims to strengthen the quality of education.
The minister highlighted that in the past decade, nearly 90,000 schools across India have undergone rationalization to ensure optimal use of resources. In Himachal, most rationalized schools had either zero or very low enrollment, and the process was carried out based on set standards.
Thakur expressed confidence that effective utilization of resources will improve education quality in the state. During his visit, he also addressed various public grievances and was felicitated by local organizations and education officials.
