Christmas was celebrated with grandeur and enthusiasm in various parts of Chamba on Wednesday. The historic Church of Scotland at the district headquarters, along with other churches in the area, was beautifully decorated for the occasion.
A special prayer service was held in the church, where Christianity followers remembered the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and pledged to follow his teachings.
Adding to the festivities, Anil Kumar, dressed as Santa Claus, distributed gifts to children, spreading joy and cheer.

Prayer service and greetings
The historic Church of Scotland hosted a special prayer meeting led by Pastor Shamsher Masih. Extending Christmas greetings to the people of Chamba and Himachal Pradesh, he emphasised the importance of unity and brotherhood.
“Christmas is celebrated with great enthusiasm in Chamba, where people of all religions come together to mark this festival of love and harmony,” he said, recalling the sacrifices of Jesus Christ.
Santa Claus spreads smiles
Dressed as Santa Claus, Anil Kumar brought smiles to the faces of children by visiting homes and distributing gifts. “There is immense excitement among the children for Christmas,” he shared, adding that he felt privileged to share the joy of the festival with them.
The day was marked by vibrant celebrations, symbolising the spirit of love, peace and communal harmony that Christmas represents.
