The residents of Dalhousie came together in a peaceful rally demanding justice for Rajendra Malhotra, the general manager of Hotel Nature Valley who was allegedly murdered on the evening of December 31, 2024.
The accused, two local police personnel, were swiftly arrested by the Dalhousie police, who registered an FIR and presented them in court.
Leading the rally was 11-year-old Samar, Malhotra’s daughter, who stood at the forefront of the call for justice for her father. The rally, attended by Malhotra’s family, including his father Jalo Ram, son Moksh, and brothers, started at Nest Hotel and ended at Tagore Chowk.
Participants observed a two-minute silence to honour Malhotra and prayed for his soul’s peace. Jalo Ram, speaking at the rally, urged the government and authorities to ensure an immediate, impartial investigation and swift delivery of justice.
The community also called for support for Malhotra’s family, including a job for his wife, education for his children and financial assistance for their well-being. The rally emphasised the strong resolve of the Dalhousie community, pushing the authorities to act urgently.
