At a felicitation ceremony for Panchayat representatives held at his residence on Monday, BJP MLA Ranveer Singh Nikka launched a sharp attack on party rebels and political opponents. He stated that in the recent Zila Parishad elections, the BJP’s fight was not only against the ruling Congress but also against expelled rebel candidates.
Nikka pointed out that just days before voting, the party high command expelled leaders who had allegedly conspired with Congress to weaken the BJP in Nurpur. Despite this, BJP secured the highest number of votes in four Zila Parishad wards, while Congress slipped to third place. He claimed that the party lost three seats by very narrow margins, and those who boasted of “ghar wapsi” (returning to BJP) saw their candidates trail even behind Congress rivals.
Presenting detailed figures, Nikka said that in Nurpur block’s 52 Panchayats, 32 Pradhans and 34 Up‑Pradhans were BJP‑supported winners. Out of 25 Block Samiti members, 19 were BJP‑backed, and one Zila Parishad member was also elected with BJP support. He asserted that these results clearly indicate BJP’s victory in upcoming elections in the Nurpur Assembly constituency. He further added that BJP’s success in municipal corporation polls across the state shows the party is poised to form the next government after the Assembly elections.
Issuing a direct challenge, Nikka declared that any opponent in Nurpur will face a strong political response from BJP workers. Recalling the 2022 Assembly elections, he said that despite lacking Zila Parishad or Panchayat backing at the time, he won with a historic margin of nearly 18,000 votes. Now, with full Panchayat support, he vowed to meet any challenge head‑on.
Concluding his speech, Nikka criticized leaders involved in anti‑party activities, saying he does not believe in “aaya ram, gaya ram” politics, but stands as a disciplined, hardworking, and honest BJP worker committed to the party’s principles.
