Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri emerged as a prominent figure at the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting held in New Delhi, leaving his supporters in high spirits.
The meeting, attended by top Congress leaders, including Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and Himachal Pradesh Congress president Pratibha Singh, focused on strategies to strengthen the party’s organisation.
Mukesh Agnihotri’s presence was significant as only a select Deputy Chief Ministers attended the prestigious CWC meeting, which is otherwise reserved for top AICC members, Chief Ministers and state unit presidents.
Supporters call him ‘pillar of strength’
Agnihotri’s invitation to the prestigious CWC meet is being seen as a testament to his rising stature within the Congress leadership. His supporters highlighted his pivotal role and experience in “maintaining the stability of the Himachal Pradesh government and steering critical decisions”.
His supporters, both within the party and in his constituency, have lauded his vision and administrative acumen, calling him a “pillar of strength” for the Congress in the state.
Key contributor to Congress’ growth
Agnihotri, known for his decisive leadership, has consistently worked to address pressing issues in Himachal Pradesh, from disaster management to industrial development. His efforts to strengthen party unity and deliver on governance promises have not gone unnoticed, both by the party high command and the people of the state, say his supporters. Agnihotri had remained the Industry Minister in the last tenure of the Congress under late Virbhadra Singh from 2012-17.
The supporters said that with his leadership gaining recognition on the national stage, Deputy CM Agnihotri continues to be a beacon of hope for Congress supporters, symbolising effective governance and unwavering dedication to the party’s ideals.
