On the occasion of International Youth Day, an awareness lecture on the theme “Youth Against Drugs” was organized at Government Arya Degree College, Nurpur. The program was jointly conducted by the NSS, Anti-Drug Committee, and Red Ribbon Club in collaboration with Manav Seva Trust, under the chairmanship of College Principal Dr. Anil Kumar Thakur.
The primary objective of the event was to educate young students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and to inspire them to lead a healthy, drug-free life.
During the session, Mr. Anil from Manav Seva Trust highlighted the physical, mental, social, and economic damage caused by drug addiction. He emphasized that youth are the greatest strength of the nation, and by staying away from social evils like drugs, they can play a vital role in nation-building.
Students were encouraged to say “No” to drugs, spread awareness among peers, and promote a drug-free society. Speakers urged the youth to engage in sports, education, creative activities, and social service as positive alternatives.
On this occasion, the Red Ribbon Club also organized a slogan-writing competition. Students showcased their creativity by writing inspiring slogans on HIV/AIDS awareness, healthy lifestyle, drug-free living, social responsibility, and youth empowerment.
The program concluded with students taking a pledge to promote health, social awareness, and fulfill their duties as responsible citizens. Members of the NSS, Anti-Drug Committee, and Red Ribbon Club played a key role in making the event successful.
