Dharamshala:
As hundreds of meritorious schoolchildren geared up to be honoured at the TNR Shining Star Little Champ Awards in Dharamshala, event sponsor Aspire IIT-Medical-Shimla shared an inspiring message for the young achievers, asking them not to waste time scrolling reels.
“Don’t waste your time scrolling reels or becoming thumb warriors on social media. Instead, embrace tools like ChatGPT and sharpen your skills in one chosen field. The future belongs to those who master their art in an AI-driven world,” the institute representatives said in their message at the event.
Highlighting the risks of excessive social media use, Aspire Institute encouraged students to make smart use of technology, adopt artificial intelligence as a learning aid, and channel their energy towards purposeful growth.
Hundreds of students honoured
The awards ceremony, hosted by The Newz Radar, took place on Friday (August 29, 2025) at the auditorium of Government Degree College, Dharamshala. Around 400 students from Classes VI, VII, VIII, IX and XI of CBSE, ICSE and HP Board schools were recognised for their exceptional scholastic achievements in the 2024-25 academic session.
Renowned dignitaries grace the occasion
The event saw the presence of former Dharamshala Municipal Corporation Mayor Devinder Jaggi as chief guest and IAS officer & Dharamshala MC Commissioner Zaffar Iqbal as the special guest. Aspire IIT-Medical-Shimla, as sponsor, supported the celebration of talent, resilience and academic brilliance.
A people’s movement of pride
The Little Champ Awards follow the resounding success of the flagship TNR Shining Star Awards, which have been honouring Class X and XII toppers since 2023. Over the years, the initiative has grown into a people’s movement — uniting students, parents, teachers and communities in celebrating academic pride and youth empowerment.
Sunil Chadha, Executive Editor, The Newz Radar, said, “These awards are not just about marks. They are about resilience, motivation and reminding students that their hard work matters.”
S Gopal Puri, Political Editor, called the awards “a salute to the silent supporters — parents and teachers — who fuel the dreams of meritorious children.”
Abhinav Sharma, Head of HR, added, “Results bring both joy and pressure. Through these awards, TNR stands with students not only as journalists but also as partners in their journey.”
