The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Nurpur unit today submitted a memorandum to the college principal regarding complaints received from students and girl students about alleged harassment and pressure from certain teachers.

ABVP representatives informed the principal that some girl students have complained of being mentally harassed, intimidated, and subjected to personal remarks by certain faculty members. In addition, a few students alleged that they were being pressured to change their subjects against their will.

The student organisation stated that such pressure could have a negative impact on students’ academic future, and in some cases, students were reportedly considering leaving the college due to the situation.

Through the memorandum, ABVP demanded that the college administration conduct a fair and impartial inquiry into the complaints and take appropriate action if the allegations are found to be true. The organisation also urged the administration to ensure a safe, respectful, and fear‑free environment for all students to pursue their studies.

ABVP further alleged that external and political interference in college administrative matters has also been reported. The organisation called upon the college authorities to make decisions independently and objectively, prioritising students’ academic interests over any outside pressure.

The Nurpur unit of ABVP asserted that it will not allow any compromise on the rights, dignity, and academic future of students. The organisation demanded prompt and appropriate action from the college administration on the matter.
