Ghumarwin: Aarav Thakur, a student of Minerva Study Circle, has emerged as the state topper in the NEET 2025 exam, securing an impressive 619 marks out of 720. Not only has he topped the state, but he has also secured the 500th rank nationwide, bringing pride to his district and institution. His remarkable performance has earned him a cash prize of ₹1 lakh from Minerva Educational Institute.
Aarav, a dedicated and hardworking student, has set his sights on securing admission to AIIMS, driven by his ambition to serve society through medicine. He credited his success to perseverance and discipline, stating that luck plays little role compared to focused effort and determination. His study schedule was rigorous, often extending late into the night, and he would wake up early, even during the cold winter months, to continue his studies.
Notably, Aarav had previously excelled in the JEE Mains exam, securing an outstanding percentile of 99.29. He expressed gratitude to his teachers and family members for their support, emphasizing that their encouragement played a crucial role in his achievements.
Aarav’s success has been met with widespread celebrations. His parents, teachers, and school administration have praised his dedication and hard work. Hailing from Dehra village in the Hatwad Panchayat of Bilaspur district’s Ghumarwin subdivision, Aarav comes from an academically accomplished family. His father, Jagdeep Thakur, is a physics lecturer at Government Senior Secondary School Kutheda, while his mother, Sapna Thakur, is a TGT at Government High School Chandoh. His elder sister, Amrita Thakur, is pursuing an MBBS degree at Tanda Medical College.
Aarav has been studying at Minerva School since grade nine, following in the footsteps of his sister, who also completed her schooling and coaching from the same institution. The school management, teachers, and his family members have expressed immense joy over his achievement, with congratulatory messages pouring in from across the district.
During the felicitation event, Aarav’s parents, Minerva Educational Institute’s founders—Pravesh Chandel, Rakesh Chandel, and Swadesh Chandel—along with other staff members, gathered to celebrate his success. His accomplishment has set a benchmark for aspiring students in the region, proving that dedication and perseverance lead to great heights.
