Himachal Trained Unemployed Art Teachers Association wants govt to fulfill promise

Chamba: The promises made to trained art teachers in Himachal Pradesh are yet to be fulfilled by the state government even as 971 await recruitment for the past one and a half years.
The aggrieved teachers want the government to declare the results of the postcode 980 which remains pending for the past 18 months. The Congress had made certain promises to this section during canvassing for the Assembly elections.
A delegation of the Unemployed Arts Teachers Association Chamba met Cabinet Minister Yadvindra Goma during his Chamba visit. Association Chamba district president Vipin Kumar reminded Goma about the promise made by the party during the Assembly elections to strike out the condition of appointing a drawing master in middle schools with a minimum of 100 students. Kumar lamented that despite having been in the saddle for over a year, the Congress party has not honoured its promise.
The minister was told that a delegation had met Chief Minister Sukhvindr Singh Sukhu regarding this matter a month ago and the CM had assured that this condition would be struck off but no notification has been issued so far.
To make matters worse the 971 candidates who had passed the postcode 980 examination on December 16, 2022, and whose documentation was concluded are still waiting for the results which were withheld due to the disbanding of the Staff Selection Board Hamirpur. Nearly 100 among the 971 successful candidates are now overage. The delegation was assured that their appeal would be conveyed to the CM.
