Bharmour
A five-day beekeeping training camp, organised under the guidance of the Bharmour Sub-Divisional Officer, concluded successfully on Tuesday. The training, which began on November 28, was held under the chairmanship of Dr Pramod Shah, Chamba DDAH.
The programme was organised by SMS Horticulture, Bharmour, and witnessed the participation of 50 trainees. Scientists from Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Chamba and expert speakers from various banks also imparted valuable technical information and guidance during the sessions.
The details were shared by Dr Manohar Lal, SMS, Bharmour. Dr Pramod Shah, addressing the participants, laid special emphasis on honey quality control, stressing the need to strictly adhere to FSSAI standards during production, processing and marketing. He urged farmers to adopt improved quality practices and modern packaging techniques to promote locally produced honey

Dr Nidhi Rawat, SMS-Horticulture, highlighted the importance of enhancing women’s participation in self-employment and horticulture-related activities.
Dr Divya, HEO, encouraged farmers to take benefit of weather-based crop insurance schemes to safeguard their earnings.
Dr Manohar, SMS, underlined the historical significance of beekeeping in Bharmour and explained the key objectives of the training programme.
During the concluding session, Dr Shah also briefed farmers about various government schemes related to beekeeping, mushroom cultivation and other horticulture sectors.
