The nomination process for the Panchayati Raj Institutions elections in Bharmaur block gained further momentum on May 8, 2026, with 239 candidates filing their papers for various posts.
Providing details, Sub‑Divisional Officer and Returning Officer Vikas Sharma informed that nominations included:
- 44 candidates for the post of Pradhan
- 46 candidates for Up‑Pradhan
- 123 candidates for Ward Members
- 23 candidates for Panchayat Samiti
- 03 candidates for Zila Parishad
With these filings, the total number of nominations received in the first two days has reached 435. Sharma noted that on May 7, 196 candidates had submitted their papers, while May 8 saw 239 nominations.
So far, cumulative figures stand at:
- 90 nominations for Pradhan
- 91 nominations for Up‑Pradhan
- 208 nominations for Ward Members
- 43 nominations for Panchayat Samiti
- 03 nominations for Zila Parishad
The steady rise in nominations reflects the growing political activity in the region as the Panchayat elections approach.
