Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) and Acting Additional District Magistrate Bharmaur, Vikas Sharma, has issued crucial orders to safeguard public safety and prevent risks to human life.
According to the directive, all forms of public movement, trekking, and pilgrimage activities beyond Hadsar on the sacred Shri Manimahesh Yatra route will remain completely prohibited for 15 days, from May 20 to June 3, 2026.
The administration highlighted that last year’s heavy landslides and cloudburst incidents severely damaged the pedestrian paths leading to Manimahesh Lake, leaving several stretches dangerously narrow, unstable, and unsafe. At present, the Public Works Department is carrying out restoration and hill-cutting work at a war footing.
Officials noted that blasting operations and boulder removal during the repair process pose life-threatening risks to the general public. Hence, the ban has been enforced prioritizing the safety of pilgrims and trekkers.
The restriction, however, applies only to the public. Authorized technical staff, laborers, and government machinery engaged in restoration work have been exempted.
Additionally, the Forest Department has been instructed to establish strict checkpoints at Hadsar to prevent any unauthorized entry into the restricted zone.
The sub-divisional administration has appealed to all devotees and local residents to comply with the orders and place their safety above all else.
