The 14th Battalion of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Nurpur celebrated India’s 80th Independence Day with grandeur, discipline, and patriotic fervor.
The ceremony commenced with Officer Commanding Shri Rajnish Sharma hoisting the National Flag in the battalion premises. As the Tricolour unfurled, the National Anthem was sung with pride, and all officers and personnel reaffirmed their loyalty and dedication to the nation.

A parade led by Assistant Commandant (GD) Shri Mahadik Sanket Ramesh was the highlight of the programme. The battalion officers showcased impeccable discipline and patriotic spirit, drawing admiration from all present.
In his inspiring address, Officer Commanding Shri Rajnish Sharma extended heartfelt greetings to the officers, personnel, and their families. He reminded everyone that Independence Day is not merely about hoisting the flag but about remembering the sacrifices of freedom fighters who laid down their lives for the country. He emphasized that independence is both a right and a responsibility, urging all to contribute to the nation’s progress through dedicated work and selfless service.
The ceremony concluded with Shri Sharma once again extending warm wishes to all officers and their families, praying for their happiness, safety, and well-being.
