A review meeting of Anti-Drug Committees (NNCs) from highly sensitive red-zone panchayats — Beli Mahantan, Majra, and Damtal — under Nurpur Police District was held today. The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Commissioner of Kangra.

  • The meeting was attended by the Superintendent of Police Nurpur, SDM Indora, SDPO Indora, Station House Officer Damtal, committee members, and local citizens.
  • Progress made by the committees over the past three weeks was reviewed. The Deputy Commissioner directed the committees to hold regular meetings, submit action reports, and play an active role in drug eradication efforts.
  • The SP Nurpur instructed strict action under NDPS cases, identification of local drug trafficking networks, and tough measures against offenders.
  • Local citizens emphasized the need for facilities such as libraries, playgrounds, and gyms to keep youth away from drugs. Issues like the incomplete playground in Damtal Panchayat, problems related to revenue certificates, and lack of facilities in Anganwadi centers were also raised. The district administration assured early resolution of these concerns.
  • The meeting concluded with a collective pledge to strengthen the joint efforts of administration, police, and community towards building a drug-free society.
