A fresh incident of rising human–wildlife conflict during winter has been reported in Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh.
- While walking along a road, a group of youths were injured after colliding with a barasingha (swamp deer).
- Former minister Bikram Thakur, who was present at the spot, immediately stepped in with a humanitarian gesture.
- He used his personal vehicle to safely transport the injured youths to the hospital, ensuring timely medical care.
Authorities note that such incidents highlight the growing challenges of wildlife movement near human settlements during the winter season.
