MANDI: In a remarkable journey from Himachal Pradesh to the glitzy stage of Miss Universe India-2025 pageant, Ravitanaya Sharma is making waves as one of the strongest contenders for the coveted crown.
Currently under way in Jaipur, after initial rounds in Indore city of Madhya pradesh, the competition has brought together 53 finalists from across the country. Representing Punjab as the reigning Miss Universe Punjab 2025, Ravitanaya traces her roots to Mandi and her upbringing to Shimla, creating a proud moment for Himachal Pradesh on the national stage.
Month of grit, grace, glory
Over the past month, Ravitanaya has been pushing her limits, preparing rigorously for the competition. She has cleared the National Costume Round and Interview Round with impressive rankings, consistently placing in the Top 5 and Top 10 on the leaderboards. She also earned a spot among the Top 5 best speakers, a rare distinction in a pageant known for testing both beauty and intellect.

Tomorrow marks the crucial Preliminary Round, the most challenging segment where contestants are tested on their personality, intellect, social awareness and stage presence. “She has been outsmarting her competitors even in sponsor rounds, where her professionalism, experience and sharp mind have been widely appreciated,” said her mother Kanchan Sharma. “I can’t reveal details, but she is certainly among the top contenders.”
Adding to her acclaim, an international pageant critic dedicated over a minute in a review video to praise her flawless beauty, articulate mind and commanding presence, a rare honour in the pageant circuit.
Ravitanaya’s story is one of talent meeting tenacity. A former Miss Navi Mumbai-2023 and winner of multiple Himachal beauty titles, she is also a published author. Her first book, Life is Beautiful, was written at just 16. Today, she has two published works and is working on her third, all while managing her entrepreneurial ventures between Kharar and Mumbai.
An alumna of Shimla’s premier institutions — Convent of Jesus and Mary (Chelsea), Loreto Convent Tara Hall and St. Bede’s College — Ravitanaya was an academic topper before earning her MBA degree. This rare blend of intellectual depth and artistic flair sets her apart from the competition.
The Miss Universe India pageant, organised by Glamanand Entertainment Pvt Ltd under founder Nikhil Anand, is one of the most prestigious beauty competitions in the world. This year’s winner will be crowned by reigning Miss Universe India Rhea Singha of Gujarat and will go on to represent India at Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand this November.
For Mandi and Himachal Pradesh, Ravitanaya’s success is more than a personal achievement — it is a source of pride, showcasing that talent from the Himalayan heartland can shine on the grandest of global platforms.
