NURPUR:
Bringing laurels to Nurpur and entire Kangra district in Himachal Pradesh, Anvit Thakur, a Class VII student of Nurpur Public School, has secured admission to the prestigious Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), Dehradun, through sheer hard work and merit.

Anvit achieved this milestone by clearing the All India Entrance Examination for Class VIII, held in June 2025, with an impressive performance. RIMC, functioning under the Ministry of Defence, is a premier residential institution and is regarded as a feeder institute for the National Defence Academy (NDA) and the armed forces, where cadets are groomed to become future military officers.

What makes Anvit’s achievement even more remarkable is that only one seat is allotted to Himachal Pradesh in each admission cycle. By securing the top position in the state merit list, Anvit claimed this coveted seat. He scored 303.83 marks out of 450 and achieved an All India Rank (AIR) of 16.

Expressing gratitude after his success, Anvit credited the dedicated guidance of his teachers at Nurpur Public School and the constant support of his parents. He said their encouragement and motivation inspired him to work hard and remain focused on achieving this challenging goal. His success has sparked celebrations and a sense of pride among his family members and within the school community.

Congratulating Anvit on his outstanding achievement, school director Arvind Dogra and principal Anmol Dogra extended their best wishes for his future. They expressed confidence that Anvit would go on to serve the nation as a distinguished officer and make the school and region proud in the years to come.
