Setting an example of social responsibility, Lions Club Dharamshala organised a Repair Fair on Monday at Saunkani Da Kot village panchayat in the Khanyara area. The fair was held at the Ambedkar Bhawan premises and witnessed active participation from local residents.

The programme was chaired by Lions Club Dharamshala President Lion Mohinder Singh Dhiman, while the event was conducted under the supervision of the Gram Panchayat Pradhan.

During the fair, villagers brought electrical and household appliances that had been lying unused for years due to minor faults. Items such as fans, mixer grinders, electric irons, gas stoves, pressure cookers, and other domestic appliances were repaired free of cost and handed back to their owners in working condition. This initiative generated visible enthusiasm among the villagers, who benefited significantly from the service.

The repair fair continued from 11 am to 6 pm and was successfully organised with the cooperation of Lion Trilok Sharma and the effective leadership of Lion B.K. Sharma, along with active participation from all members of Lions Club Dharamshala.

Addressing the gathering, speakers said that such repair fairs not only provide financial relief to poor and middle-class families, but also contribute positively towards waste management and environmental conservation by promoting reuse instead of disposal.

Villagers appreciated the initiative taken by Lions Club Dharamshala and expressed hope that similar public welfare programmes would be organised in the future as well.
