Udaipur: In a shocking incident, the CEO of a private IT company has been arrested along with two others for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman manager after a birthday party in Rajasthan’s Udaipur, the police said on Friday.
According to the police, the accused CEO, identified as Jitesh Sisodia, had hosted a birthday celebration last Saturday, which was attended by the woman colleague. As the evening progressed, other guests reportedly left, leaving the woman alone with a few senior staff members.
The police said the other two accused include a woman executive head of the company and her husband, Gaurav Sirohi, a resident of Meerut. All three were taken into custody on Thursday and later produced before a local court, which sent them to four days of police remand.
Udaipur Superintendent of Police Yogesh Goyal told the media that the case was registered at Sukher police station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita following the woman’s complaint. “After preliminary investigation, the accused were arrested and remanded to police custody for further questioning,” he said.
As per the complaint, the woman executive offered to drop the manager home after the party. She was taken in a car in which the CEO and the executive’s husband were also present. During the journey, the accused allegedly bought a substance from a shop and offered it to her. The woman stated that she later lost consciousness and realised the next morning that she had been sexually assaulted.
