CHAMBA: In a shocking incident in Bhattiyat division of Chamba district in Himachal Pradesh, a Nepali-origin man allegedly killed his mother after having a quarrel with her over a monetary issue while being drunk. The incident occurred in a village under Dangri panchayat of Taragarh post office.
In his complaint to the police, the man’s father, Kul Bahadur (81), alleged that that his son Mangal Bahadur often quarreled with his mother Maya Devi over financial matters.
“On the night of November 7, Mangal returned home drunk and had an argument with Maya, who was cooking. I went to sleep in goat pen and when I returned in the morning at 5.30 am, Maya was lying near the room’s door while Mangal was washing the verandah. I later discovered that Maya lay dead, having received injury from a sharp weapon,” he alleged. The police immediately swung into action and arrested Mangal.
