IPL match Dharamshala 2024: RCB team lands at Kangra airport minus Virat Kohli

Dharamshala: The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) team reached Dharamshala on Monday (May 6, 2024) for its match against Punjab Kings to be played at the picturesque HPCA (Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association) stadium on May 9.
The RCB players landed at the Gaggal airport in Kangra in the morning, but the team’s key player Virat Kohli didn’t accompany the team. The former Team India skipper is expected to reach Dharamshala on May 7 or May 8.
The IPL match at Dharamshala will be watched by about 22,000 cricket enthusiasts, which is the maximum capacity of the ground. Almost all tickets for the match are learnt to have been sold out.
The HPCA stadium in Dharamshala is the second home for Punjab Kings after the new stadium in New Chandigarh and is to host two games.
In the first match played on Sunday, Chennai Super Kings beat Punjab Kings by 28 runs. Sent into bat, Ravindra Jadeja made 43 runs off 26 balls and then picked up 3 for 20 to ensure a win for CSK.
Chasing a modest 168, PBKS faltered from the word go with only Prabhsimran Singh (30) and Shashank Singh (27) making significant contributions with the bat before being restricted to 139 for 9 in 20 overs. Besides Jadeja, Simarjeet Singh (2/16) and Tushar Deshpande (2/35) picked up two wickets each for CSK.
