Dharamshala: Kishori Lal, Chief Parliamentary Secretary and Baijnath MLA, reiterated the Congress party’s commitment to allocate tickets for the upcoming elections based on merit and dedication rather than financial influence.
Talking to media persons here he emphasised the importance of grassroots workers, and underscored that the party’s ticket allocation process will rely on extensive ground surveys to identify deserving candidates who have actively contributed to the party’s objectives and served their communities selflessly.
Lal commended the current state government’s performance, particularly in swiftly addressing post-disaster rehabilitation efforts, such as rebuilding homes for affected families, and reinstating vital social welfare programs like the old pension scheme. He lauded these initiatives as historic steps taken by the government to prioritize the welfare of its citizens.
Taking a swipe at the opposition BJP, Lal accused them of prioritizing power over public welfare, alleging that their politics centered around transactional deals have brought shame to Himachal Pradesh.
He criticized the BJP’s approach of buying and selling political allegiances, contrasting it with the Congress party’s dedication to upholding democratic values and empowering grassroots workers.
The press conference witnessed the presence of several prominent figures from the Congress party, including former Congress candidate Vijay Indar Karn, Rajneesh Padha, Manoj Kumar, and Punit Malli, alongside various party officials and activists. Lal’s address highlighted the party’s commitment to fostering a transparent and merit-based approach in its electoral processes, ensuring that deserving individuals are entrusted with responsibilities to serve the people effectively.
