MANDI: Bollywood actress and BJP candidate for Mandi parliamentary seat Kangana Ranaut’s father Amardeep Singh Ranaut has strongly criticised a Congress leader’s recent social media post targeting his daughter, labelling it as reflective of the Congress’ regressive mindset and evident anxiety.
Speaking during a media interaction in Mandi, Ranaut emphasised the revered status of women in Hinduism, highlighting the pivotal role of feminine strength in global progress. He condemned the Congress for its narrowminded stance against this very essence of feminine empowerment, deeming their statement unacceptable on all fronts.
Reflecting on his family’s political journey, Ranaut recounted his grandfather’s role as a freedom fighter and his subsequent engagement in social service, initially aligned with the Congress, where he served as a legislator from Sarkaghat.
However, he lamented the abandonment by the Congress over time, notably during the demolition of his daughter’s residence in Mumbai where the Congress failed to extend support.
With his family’s transition to the BJP, Ranaut affirmed their commitment to the party and its principles. Expressing gratitude, Ranaut thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Amit Shah, BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda, Union Minister Anurag Thakur and former CM Jai Ram Thakur for nominating his daughter Kangana Ranaut as the BJP candidate from Mandi. He pledged unwavering dedication to fulfilling the responsibilities entrusted to his daughter.
