All India National Congress Party District Hamirpur spokesperson and State Bar Council member, Rohit Sharma Advocate, strongly criticized the Central Government’s decision regarding the water cess issue in Himachal Pradesh. He labeled it as a “Tughlaqi decision” and vowed that it would not be tolerated. According to Sharma, water is an internal matter of the state, and the Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu government is fully capable of handling water cess. He also emphasized that the Himachal government enjoys widespread public support on this matter.
Sharma criticized the Central Government’s attitude, and he accused former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur of insensitivity toward the common people of Himachal Pradesh by supporting the Central Government’s decision. He pointed out that in the past, when the Himachal Pradesh government proposed a national disaster declaration in the Patel Assembly, BJP MLAs, under Thakur’s leadership, walked out, causing distress to the people. Sharma further criticized the previous BJP government’s policies, claiming they had harmed the state’s economy.
Sharma expressed confidence that the Congress Party would win in the upcoming assembly elections in various states and work in the public interest.
