Dharamshala: Kangra district Congress committee organized a meeting in Dharamshala on February 2 to review preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
The meeting, led by Nigam Bhandari, the coordinator of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) for Kangra-Chamba Lok Sabha, was chaired by district president Karn Pathania.
Attendees included block presidents, leaders of various organizations, and officials from different departments. The gathering discussed strategies for strengthening the organization at the booth, block, and mandal levels, emphasizing the need to be well-prepared for the upcoming elections.
During a press briefing, Bhandari expressed the Congress party’s commitment to ensuring victory at every booth in the Lok Sabha elections. He highlighted the contrast between the Congress, which relies on grassroots workers for elections, and the BJP, which, according to Bhandari, involves agencies like ED, CBI, Election Commission, Income Tax, and Adani in the electoral process.
Bhandari also raised questions about the Modi government’s Agniveer Yojana, criticizing the corporate influence in recruiting candidates from Kangra. He urged the youth to participate in military recruitment drives and called upon BJP leaders, including JP Nadda, to share the message they bring from Delhi with the youth actively serving in Kangra.
Bhandari questioned the Modi government’s implementation of the Agniveer Yojana, expressing concerns about the corporate culture introduced into the Indian Army. He also raised questions about the silence of Himachal’s MPs during times of crisis and their inability to secure financial assistance for the state from the Modi government.
The meeting concluded with a call for Congress workers to actively engage in election preparations, ensuring a strong presence in every constituency.
