The Union Education Ministry has appointed Himachal Pradesh as the coordinator for the proposed ‘Best of India Youth Confluence Program’ this year. Under this initiative, Himachal Pradesh and Odisha will exchange cultural insights and heritage. The program, themed around tourism, tradition, intercultural exchange, progress, and technology, will witness a delegation of 50 students from various institutions in Himachal Pradesh traveling to Odisha on February 21. In return, Odisha’s students will embark on a journey to Himachal Pradesh on March 7.
Each of the nine institutions in Himachal Pradesh will designate a coordinator for seamless coordination. The Vice-Chancellor of CU HP, Prof. Sat Prakash Bansal, shared that 50% male and 50% female students would participate in the program, with each participant showcasing the local leadership of their respective districts to highlight Himachal Pradesh’s rich cultural heritage.
Prof. Bansal outlined the itinerary for the Odisha delegation, including a warm welcome on March 7, a visit to tourist destinations with a special meeting with the Dalai Lama, and exploration of key landmarks like the Dharamshala Assembly, Kangra Fort, Brajeshwari Temple, and Chamunda Devi Temple on March 8. The program will also include visits to traditional villages, showcasing the state’s heritage on March 9, followed by a tour of the Judiciary and Tal Lake. March 10 will feature visits to the Cricket Stadium, War Memorial, afternoon lunch, and a visit to the Norbuling Institute. On March 11, the delegation will explore NIT Hamirpur, AIIMS Bilaspur, and Gobind Sagar, concluding the journey with a night’s rest in Bilaspur. The Odisha delegation’s visit to Himachal Pradesh University, Indian Institute of Advanced Study, and the Badri region on March 13 will mark the culmination of the program.
