Charges them of preparing wrong feasibility report for wind power project

Shimla: The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered cases against three retired officers of public sector undertaking Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVNL) and a private company for causing a loss of Rs 191 crore to the undertaking.
The case relates to the wind power project of SJVNL in Ahmednagar city of Maharashtra. The tender for preparing the feasibility report of the 50 MW wind power project was awarded to a private company.
The charges levelled by CBI included wrongful awarding of the tender to the private company which submitted an incorrect feasibility report regarding power generation being submitted to SJVNL which did not match the actual production.
The retired officers concerned were also charged with colluding with some others in failing to procure required instruments and their installation thus causing a loss to SJVNL.
The CBI had carried out raids at seven places related to the accused in Delhi, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon, Samana (Patiala district, Punjab), and Chennai and seized evidence.
Following preliminary inquiry the CBI registered cases of committing fraud against the retired executive director, retired chief general manager, and retired deputy general manager of SJVNL along with the private company officials concerned and two representatives of the private company.
