The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has strongly condemned the alleged controversial remarks made by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. BJP Himachal Pradesh Media Co-Incharge Advocate Vishva Chakshu has demanded that Kharge publicly apologize to the Prime Minister, warning that legal action may otherwise be initiated.
Addressing the media, Vishva Chakshu said the BJP strongly denounces the alleged derogatory comments made by Kharge regarding Prime Minister Modi’s late father. He stated that while political opposition is a vital part of democracy, targeting a leader’s deceased family members is against Indian culture, social values, and democratic traditions.
Chakshu said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has dedicated his life to the service of the nation and its development. According to him, the use of offensive language against the Prime Minister’s family reflects what he described as the Congress party’s narrow political mindset and growing frustration.
He further emphasized that political discourse should focus on policies, ideologies, and governance rather than personal attacks and unwarranted comments about family members. He urged Congress leaders to uphold dignity and decorum in public life and exercise political responsibility.
“Democracy grants everyone the right to disagree, but that right does not permit the use of insulting or derogatory language,” Chakshu said.
The BJP leader also called upon Mallikarjun Kharge to clarify his alleged statement and, if the remarks were indeed offensive, to issue a public apology to the people of the country.
