Under the leadership of Election Registration Officer & SDM Norpur Arun Sharma, a series of engaging activities were organized today across various educational institutions in Norpur Assembly constituency as part of the voter awareness campaign.
Through the Election Literacy Clubs (ELCs), students participated in dialogues, speeches, and creative drawing-painting sessions aimed at strengthening electoral awareness. The initiative was efficiently coordinated by Electoral Kanungo Rajnish Kumar, SVEEP Nodal Officer Brijesh Pathania, BLO supervisors, booth-level officers, and other nodal officers appointed by the department.
Norpur Subdivision’s ELC Nodal Officer Varun Sharma explained that nodal officers have been assigned responsibility for three to four institutions each, with activities scheduled on the third Saturday of every month. The primary objective is to encourage 100% voter turnout in the upcoming Assembly elections.
The Election Commission has mandated the establishment of ELCs in every educational institution, particularly involving students from classes IX to XII. These future voters are being familiarized with the electoral process, including the use of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), VVPATs, and ballot units, ensuring transparency and confidence in the system.
Adding a green touch to the campaign, saplings of moringa, lemon, and palah were distributed among participating students.
Prominent attendees included Dr. Rohit Kumar, Brijesh Pathania, Jyoti Bala, Gurudev Singh, Gagan Singh, Som Singh, Ravi Mahajan, Ankush Pathania, Munish, Vinod Kumar, Sandeep Singh, Sonu, Sandeep Kumar, Pradeep, and Mahashu Ram.
