Nurpur
Preparations for the upcoming State-Level Janmashtami Festival in Nurpur are in full swing. To make the celebration of Lord Krishna’s birth grand and captivating, the entire town is being adorned with decorative lights and vibrant displays. As in previous years, the Tilak Raj Mahajan family has taken up the responsibility of illuminating the city with beautiful lighting arrangements.
Colorful lights are being installed from Nurpur Chogan to Niyazpur, including the newly built temple gate and other key streets and landmarks. These sparkling decorations will make Nurpur glow like Vrindavan, creating a divine and festive atmosphere for devotees and residents alike.
Rajni Mahajan, Councillor of Ward No. 2, Municipal Council Nurpur, and a member of the Mahajan family, said that their family has always been active in religious, social, and public service initiatives. She added that, motivated by devotion to Lord Krishna and concern for devotees’ comfort, the family continues its tradition of decorating the town with grand lighting every year.
Mahajan noted that the State-Level Janmashtami Festival has become a hallmark of Nurpur, attracting devotees from far and wide to seek blessings of Lord Brijraj Swami Ji. The purpose of the city’s decoration, she said, is to provide a serene and spiritual environment during the festivities.
She appealed to all residents to visit Shri Brijraj Swami Temple, Nurpur, on September 4 and 5 to participate in the celebrations and offer prayers to Lord Krishna. Rajni Mahajan also extended heartfelt Janmashtami greetings to everyone, urging them to celebrate the festival with love, unity, and devotion.
