In a major breakthrough against the illegal drug trade, the CIA staff of Police District Nurpur recovered 10.96 grams of heroin during a raid conducted on August 5, 2026. Acting on reliable information, police searched the residence of Tapeshwar Singh alias Sonu in village Chakk Nanglia, Post Office Kandrori, Tehsil Indora. The contraband was found hidden inside a television speaker in one of the rooms.
Following the recovery, a case (FIR No. 130/2026) was registered at Police Station Damtal under Sections 21, 61, and 85 of the NDPS Act. The accused, Tapeshwar Singh alias Sonu, son of late Madan Singh, resident of Chakk Nanglia, has been arrested. Investigations are underway to trace the source of the narcotics and identify other individuals possibly linked to the illegal trade.
Nurpur Police have appealed to the public to support their ongoing campaign against drugs by promptly sharing any information related to narcotics. Authorities assured that strict legal action will continue against those involved in drug trafficking.
