Marking the occasion of Van Mahotsav, the students of the Hindi Department at Government Arya College, Nurpur, carried out a plantation drive in the college premises.
The program commenced under the guidance of Principal Dr. Diljit Singh, who highlighted the medicinal value of plants. He emphasized that if every individual takes responsibility to plant even a single sapling, the earth would become greener and happier. He congratulated the students and extended his best wishes for their meaningful initiative.
Assistant Professor Dr. Anil Kumar also addressed the gathering, describing the plantation drive as a small yet significant campaign by the Hindi Department — a priceless gift to the earth. He reflected on cultural values, noting that “Mother is our first teacher, and Mother Earth makes life simple, successful, and relevant.” He added that this plantation is not merely a formal activity but a reminder of our duty towards Mother Earth. He congratulated the students, saying their efforts would bring positive change in their lives.
Around 40–50 students participated enthusiastically, planting saplings of Tulsi, marigold, rose, and other species in the campus. Faculty members from various departments were also present to support the initiative.
