Himachal Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania conducted an extensive tour of landslide-affected areas in the Bhatiyat constituency, directing the Public Works Department (PWD) to prepare permanent solutions for vulnerable road stretches.
During the inspection, Pathania visited several critical sites including Gahar Da Ghatu on the Patka–Dalhousie road and Tikkar Gala Ghar on the Nurpur–Sanjhi–Nala–Lahdu–Tunnu Hatti route, among others. He praised the PWD’s swift restoration efforts, noting that despite the severe damage caused by heavy rainfall on July 21–22 — where nearly 200 meters of road at Tikkar Gala Ghar was completely washed away — the department worked tirelessly under challenging conditions to reopen the route.
The Speaker instructed officials to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) under the HPDRRP scheme for landslide-prone stretches including Paniyala, Tikkar Gala, and Shahpur–Singhuta–Chuwari road, ensuring long-term stability and uninterrupted traffic flow in the future.
Pathania also met residents in rural areas affected by landslides, listened to their concerns, and directed departmental officers to take necessary action.
Senior officials present during the visit included Superintending Engineer Jeet Singh Thakur (PWD), Executive Engineer Narendra Chaudhary (PWD), Executive Engineer Rakesh Thakur (Jal Shakti Department), and Block Development Officer Anil Gurada.
