In its very first Gram Sabha meeting, the newly formed Gram Panchayat Poolan, under the chairmanship of Pradhan Angrez Kapoor, passed several important resolutions prioritizing transparency, accountability, and public interest.

The Gram Sabha unanimously decided that the Panchayat will no longer issue proposals or No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to any institution or committee for development works. The rationale behind this move is that for nearly 15 years, many committee-led projects have remained incomplete or failed to meet quality standards. Henceforth, all development activities will be carried out under the Panchayat’s direct supervision to ensure accountability.

Another major decision was the strong opposition to the proposed liquor shop on the village’s main road. The Gram Sabha highlighted that the location is highly unsuitable as it is close to a ration shop and just 200 meters from a school, besides being a crowded public area. The Panchayat resolved to formally register its objection with the concerned department.

The meeting also discussed matters related to the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, focusing on the selection of eligible beneficiaries, along with other developmental issues.

These resolutions, taken in the first Gram Sabha itself, are being seen as a significant step towards ensuring transparent governance, accountability, and prioritizing community welfare in Gram Panchayat Poolan.
