Kangra Prepares for Minjar Festival and Shravan Ashtami Fairs

Under the chairmanship of SDM Kangra Dr. Anjali Garg, a meeting of the Bajreshwari Temple Trust was held to discuss preparations for the upcoming Minjar Festival (July 21–28) and Shravan Ashtami Fairs (August 13–22).

Officials present included temple officer Shivali Thakur, Tehsildar Prakash Chand, trust members, and representatives from various departments.

  • Security: Additional personnel and CCTV cameras to be deployed.
  • Cleanliness: Extra sanitation staff to be appointed; proper arrangements for electricity, water, and toilets in guest houses.
  • Traffic: Heavy vehicle movement in Kangra town to be restricted during festival hours.
  • Facilities for Devotees: Drinking water at Bajreshwari Ghat, bus service from Tehsil Chowk to the temple.
  • Special Attractions: A grand procession on the concluding day of the Minjar Festival.
  • New Initiative: Temple trust to introduce a food van service offering affordable meals for birthdays and other occasions.

Dr. Garg emphasized that providing better facilities to thousands of devotees visiting Bajreshwari Temple is the collective responsibility of all departments. She urged officials to complete their tasks promptly to ensure a smooth and festive celebration.
